Ivy Jacobsen

California native, Ivy Jacobsen creates her dreamy realism with a process of layering oil, epoxy and resin on wood panel, creating a beautiful luminescent effect in her paintings, inviting the viewer to see ‘into’ the works themselves as the illusion of depth is created. Bringing together elements of flora and fauna, Jacobsen is inspired by studying plants she encounters within daily life in the Bay Area, botanical illustrations, and processes of plans and their life cycles. For Jacobsen, the act of painting is a meditative process that is healing, restorative and intuitive.
