Pik-Tone Fung
Pik-Tone Fung is interested in the use of pattern designs to enhance, transform, and distort interior spaces. Her paintings explore the boundaries between decorative and fine art, and focus specifically on the depiction and domestication of nature throughout the history of pattern design. Fung’s process is a purely subjective response to the original source material, and her work is realized with intense detail and repetitive gestures. By featuring patterns on a flat picture plane, she hopes to draw attention to the intricacies of the patterns themselves as well as their ability to be repeated infinitely.
